In a time when trust in institutions is wavering and global challenges such as climate change and biodiversity loss are becoming increasingly urgent, citizen science offers a pathway to shared meaning-making and collective action.
This session explores how participatory science strengthens both knowledge creation and community resilience. When citizens set the research agenda and collaborate as genuine partners, rather than passive participants, science becomes a tool for building trust and enabling transformation. Through co-creation approaches, communities define problems, generate evidence, and drive solutions together. Together, we'll explore how deepening participation in science as valued collaborators can foster the agency, evidence, and trust communities need to create meaningful change.
